Smoothie Ice-lollies

My 3 year old absolutely loves these and all the more so because she makes them (obviously with a little help!)  They are so easy and a great way of using up some wrinkly fruit.  They also make great, healthy, cheap and yummy treats for little people particularly on a hot afternoon in the garden.  I use moulds that I bought from my local Morrisons which were a £1 for 6 – bargain.  You’ll need a tall jug or container so you can whizz up your smoothie using a hand blender or what we call in our household, a magic wand!

Making time: – minutes

Freezing time: – a good few hours

Ingredients

  • Whatever fruit you have going, but ours usually consist of a couple of apples, berries, a banana
  • Fruit juice – we usually use apple or pomegranate

Instructions

  1. Cut up your fruit and pop in a tall jug.
  2. Add enough juice to cover fruit plus a little more.
  3. Blend with your hand blender or magic wand.
  4. Pour into your moulds and place in your freezer.
  5. Enjoy – several hours later!
